Improve Immunity and Prevent COVID-19

Centre for Rural Education and Development (CRED) is a registered non-governmental organization working for the past 33 years in 200 villages covering Madurai and Dindigul Districts of Tamilnadu concentrates empowering the children, women and marginalised farmers.
Covid-19 is most recently discovered Corona Virus Disease in China during December 2019 which causes respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and leads to death. From early 2020, more than 10 lakhs people are being affected and more than 50,000 people have died of this COVID-19.

Even though India is taking firm steps in preventing the disease, the poor awareness among public may loss many lives. We know that protecting the life of the people is the role of our Government; CRED and SIRUMALAI VEGETABLE FARMERS PRODUCER COMPANY (SVFPC) feels that supporting the efforts of the Government at this crucial time by creating awareness and providing food and safety materials to the poor and disadvantaged people is more important.
We have been identified in and around Vadipatti Block of Madurai Districts that there are more than 1,000 farmers are affected by the loss of supply chain during country wide lock down. The farmers could not harvest and sell their vegetables at the same time the general publics are in pausity of vegetables. At this juncture with the support of SVFPC we unite the supply chain by linking the vegetable farmers and the people where ever possible with the District Administration and Dept.of Agriculture and Marketing.

During the visit we found more than 3000 vulnerable daily wage labours, single women, destitue elderly peolple are highly in need of food mateirals to combat this COVID-19 lock down. CRED is planning to start supply of Vegetbale Home Pack value of Rs. 100/- for the vulnerable people identified above for free of cost. This will really improve the immunity power of vulnerables and protect them from the Killing virus. We request you to support our initiatives with your valuable giving hands.
